Thursday, 27th of March 2025, 7.30 p.m. we’re looking forward to meeting you @ODEON Theatre, in order to celebrate together World Theatre Day. We offer you the opportunity to go backstage; to visit the two halls, this time by seeing the world from the stage, from the actors’ perspective, to visit their cabins, where they prepare before each show; to find out stories from the building’s centennial history.
Your host will be actor Gabriel Pintilei.
On this occasion, we are offering you a free ticket for every purchased one. You can only benefit this offer from the Ticket Office.
World Theatre Day was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute ITI. It is celebrated annually on the 27th March (date of the opening of the 1962 “Theatre of Nations” season in Paris) by ITI Centres and the international theatre community. Various national and international theatre events are organised to mark this occasion. One of the most important of these is the circulation of the World Theatre Day Message through which at the invitation of ITI, a figure of world stature shares his or her reflections on the theme of Theatre and a Culture of Peace. The first World Theatre Day Message was written by Jean Cocteau in 1962.
This year’s message was written by Theatre Director, Educator, Author, Founder and Artistic Director of the Attis Theatre Company, Inspirator of Theatre Olympics and Chairman of the International Committee of Theatre Olympics, Theodoros Terzopoulos (Greece).
